The Board of Directors and staff of the U.S.-Mexico Border Philanthropy Partnership extends our thoughts and our prayers to the families and communities impacted by the recent hurricanes and earthquakes across our countries and regions.  We pray for the safe return of loved ones displaced by these tragedies, and for strength and comfort to those whose lives have been lost.

Now more than ever, volunteers and charitable contributions are needed to respond to the immediate relief of impacted families and communities.  There are many organizations responding to these crises.  Several BPP member and stakeholder organizations have opened emergency response funds to receive disaster relief contributions.  Please see below for a list of organizations requesting your support.  Your generosity is appreciated.

Hispanics in Philanthropy

HIP partners with a transnational network of foundations to make impactful investments in the Latino community, and help Latino nonprofits access funds and develop their leadership so they can effectively address the most pressing issues facing our communities.  HIP has created emergency relief funds for the victims of the earthquakes in Mexico and Hurricanes Harvey and Irma. All donations will go directly to local organizations working on relief efforts on the ground.

International Community Foundation

ICF is available to respond to natural disasters worldwide at the request of donors, partner organizations, and local grantees.
Currently, all contributions to the International Relief Fund will aid in the recovery of the aftermath caused by the magnitude-8.1 earthquake that struck off the coast of Chiapas on Thursday, Sept. 7th.  The earthquake -- the most powerful to hit the country in a century -- was felt as far as Mexico City and Guatemala City, and has caused significant damage and deaths in Oaxaca and Chiapas. ICF is working with local organizations in these regions to cover short term basic needs and longer term reconstruction costs.  Please direct questions to ICF Program Officer, Eliza Brennan at [email protected] or 619-336-2254.
