Knowledge BaseUnited States-México Border Health CommissionThe commission was created as a bi-national health commission with the signing of an agreement by the Secretary of Health and Human Services of the United States and the Secretary of Health of Mexico. The Commission was designated as a Public International Organization by Executive Order of the President. The United States-Mexico Border Health Commission seeks to provide international leadership to optimize health and quality of life along the U.S.-Mexico border. The site provides resources such as the Racial and Ethnic Health Disparities Report Card, which expresses the many factors that contribute to health disparities, including access to healthcare, behavioral choices, genetic predisposition, poverty, environmental and occupational conditions, language barriers, social and cultural factors and discrimination in the health care setting.
