THEMATIC MEETINGS
During the BPP's Phase II, four thematic meetings will be held in the fall of each year. Each of these thematic meetings centers around on of the BPP's four programmatic foci:
- Family Asset Building
- Grassroots Community Development in Mexico
- Youth & Philanthropy: Jovenes Fronterizos Initiative
- Community Health & Environment
The primary aim of thematic meetings is to encourage border community foundations to develop true “learning communities” around one of these four priority program. The Synergos team with input from the Program Committee and specially constituted advisory committees for each of the program foci, develops the agenda and activities for Learning Forums.
Thematic meetings are smaller and the program content more targeted than the annual U.S.-Mexico Border Philanthropy Partnership Annual Learning Community meetings. Border community foundations are invited to send one representative per foundation. (If funding becomes available, thematic meetings may also allow additional participation by representatives from border community foundations and non-profit partners.)
