OUR MISSION

Our Mission is to contribute to the human and social development of the people of Chihuahua; hence the foundation has representations in 9 cities in the State: Juarez, Casas Grandes, Cuauhtemoc, Chihuahua, Camargo, Delicias, Jimenez, Parral and Ojinaga.

With the purpose of placing FECHAC as promoter and facilitator of the creation of capital stocks process and as part of our participation within the Philanthropy Border Alliance, FECHAC is working in two local development projects financed one by the FORD Foundation and the other by the Inter American Foundation

FORD FOUNDATION

The general objective of the project is to create community awareness regarding its capacity to generate development and provide a few necessary tools, through the following spaces:

      • Community linkage
      • Promote and strengthen volunteering from and for the community
      • Promote and strengthen the leadership of persons and organizations.

This community intervention was focused on the Tierra Nueva I subdivision, to the southeast of the city, one of the areas in which FECHAC has invested the most in social infrastructure in prior years.
The “United in the Desert Network” was created with the participation of neighbors from the colonia, members of the community and institutions (government, universities and churches) as a result of this network 6 projects emerging from the community have been implemented, among them “Parque de las llantas”, in which work is being carried out to improve as well as create two strategies: a permanent surveillance system and a long term maintenance program, all this with the participation of the neighbors, the participation of other sectors such as the Research and Planning Municipal Institute, the Autonomous University of Cd. Juarez and the Juarez Municipality.

IAF PROJECT

The objective of this project is to promote community development through the construction of a social base, the development of capital stocks. A few strategies have been implemented for this purpose:

      • Create incentives through calls and donations to the community
      • Trigger community development projects
      • Identify community’s assets and capacities
      • Promote the link of role players involved
      • Stimulate the development of authentic local leaderships

During the month of July an invitation was made to formal and informal community organizations, as a first step to carry out our objectives, who presented projects for the benefit of the community in the areas of: education, free time management, culture, sports, health, employment and public safety, receiving an excellent response from our community and during the month of September we will be giving out resources to the 28 winning projects.

The goal of these centers is to maximize the academic wealth of ITESM together with FECHACs knowledge of the third sector in order to encourage a civil society sector that is continuously growing, strengthened, connected and organized. OUR HOPES

Seeking out alliances, networks and partnerships amongst the various stakeholders within our community has always been a key priority for FECHAC. In so doing we aim to convert our beneficiaries into social actors and that way increase the impact of action within our community. To reach these goals we channel funds through local organizations that are committed to helping the most vulnerable members of our society and support innovative projects that have a positive impact on community development. As an example of such we are currently working to establish an alliance of community centers in the poorest areas of Juarez.
